Piglet's Letter

Dear Baby,

Your papa and mama love you so much. We haven't seen you, we don't know your name, and we don't know if you are a girl or a boy, but our love for you is infinite.

When I first told your papa that you were coming into this world he has never looked happier. I will cherish that single smile of his for the rest of my life. I will also cherish the times that we spent reading you story books while you were still inside mama's belly. I suspect that your papa may like Berenstain Bear books more than you and that he is better at doing voices when reading. I can't wait to tell you tales of learning how to swaddle a doll before you got here or your how your papa tried to put together a baby swing and a pack-n-play. I'm anxious for you to meet your entire family. You have a BIG family and so many people who already love you. Everyone is dying to meet you. My hope is that you never feel alone when you have a family like this. You have truly hit the family jackpot.

I wonder if you will be stubborn like me or hot tempered like your papa? Will you have his ears or my nose? I think your papa is most concerned with the big question - will you like sports too? (I'm not sure you have much of a choice on that matter = ) We watch a lot of sports in your new house. I'm sure that over the past few months you've been listening to all of the baseball, basketball, and football. You and I have also been listening to mama's CD collection on our ride home from work. We've made it through all of my CDs now, so you can come anytime. I apoligize for making you listen to "Now That's What I Call Real Music" Volumes 1-5, but it had to be done. Ha! (And by the way, that is NOT real music!) I will never forget listening to Christmas songs in December while you danced around or how when I put my hand up to my belly you calmed yourself.

I hope you know that this world is yours for the taking and that you can do anything you put your mind to. I will help you every step of the way and try to catch you when you fall. I'm not saying I won't make mistakes, because I will and so will your papa. You will make your share of mistakes too, but, we will all grow from them. Mistakes are okay. No one is perfect. When you get a little older you will learn right from wrong. Doing the right thing is not always the easiest, but what is right is right.

We are so excited to meet you.

With all my unconditional love,
Mama

This is the sweetest thing and you have to save it for when that sweet baby is old enough to understand this. I think it's so exciting that the gender of the baby is going to be a surprise. I'm very excited for what's ahead for you and Greg!
